Markers
Fun, funky, whimsical, charming, our Beaded Designer Stitch
Markers were designed to be a practical tool as well as a
functional piece of jewelry. They are designed by JoLene Treace
and made by her mother, Janet White (an avid beader). They
all have their own personality, and are a fun to collect as
well as give as a gift. The stitch markers themselves are
designed so that the scale of the stitchmarker does not make
it obtrusive to oneís knitting. Materials include more
ìcommonî elements as well as semi-precious materials,
natural stone, and pewter. They are listed with the more simple
designs at the beginning. The simple sets come standard with
a 2-inch safety pin, while the more jewelry like sets
with a dangle on the pin come standard with a kilt pin. |

Biwa is one
of the basic stitch marker sets. It features a delicate stylized
leaf bead, flanked by Matsuno seed beads in a bright and cheerful
colorway, chosen for its bold colors. Colors were limited
to primary and secondary colors to enhance the simple feel
and intent of the design.

Love Beads
is one of the basic stitch marker sets. It features a delicate
puffed heart bead, flanked by Matsuno seed beads in a bright
and cheerful colorway, chosen for its bold colors. Colors
were limited to primary and secondary colors to enhance the
simple feel and intent of the design.

Painted ladies
is a basic set designed around Victorian architecture. It
features cast metal beads that look like Victorian gingerbread
trim, flanked by Toho color lined seed beads. The colorway
is designed to look both vintage and updated. Colors that
are softer and slightly grayed, much like the colors favored
by design houses such as Rowan.

Paisley Park
is a basic set designed around paisley patterns. It features
a puffed diamond cast metal bead with a 4 petal stylized flower.
It is flanked by Matsuno silver lined rainbow finish seed
beads. The colorway is the same beautiful jewel tones you
see in paisleys. This colorway is also used for Tudor Roses.
The bright jewel colors with the iridescent finish has a rich
and regal feel.

Rainforest
is a basic set inspired by the beautiful butterflies of a
tropical rainforest. It features butterfly beads (plated pewter),
flanked by Matsuno silver lined matte seed beads. Gold filled
beads peak out between the main butterfly bead and seed beads,
and serve to stabilize the seed beads next to the main bead.

Tudor Roses
is a basic set featuring a cast pewter bead in a Celtic knot
flanked by Matsuno silver lined rainbow finish seed beads.
The colorway is the same beautiful jewel tones you see in
precious and semi precious gems (Ruby, Sapphire, Peridot etc)
This colorway is also used for Paisley Park. The bright jewel
colors with the iridescent finish has a rich and regal feel.

Flower Bali
is a dangle set, featuring a lovely lampwork glass bead on
the dangle. The flower beads are cast metal, and the round
green beads and yellow rice beads are fiber optic cat’s
eye beads. A sterling silver bali style bead separates the
green and yellow beads. This set was inspired the tropical
flowers and beautiful people of bali. Unabashedly feminine,
it also has a chic sophisticated feel due to the asymmetrical
arrangement of the beads on each stitch marker.

Me-Now is a
dangle set, featuring a delightful gold tabby cat bead made
of ceramic and accented with gold. Swarkovski crystals, Black
Onyx and gold plated bali style spacer beads complete the
design. My cat Simon is affectionately known as “His
Royal Furriness”, as well as “Precious”.
It is the whole cat-attitude, not only of the felines themselves
but the individuals that they own, that is the basis of this
design.

Purl-a-Squirrel
is a thoroughly delightful dangle set featuring cast pewter
and Swarkovski crystals. Two shades of Topaz crystals are
used in this set to accent the woodsy feel of the design,
as well as the oak leaf charm on the dangle. The squirrels
are much more detailed than the photo shows.
In my part of the country, there is a squirrel feeder called
twirl-a-squirrel, which spins hapless squirrels around when
they get on to eat. The spinning is no deterrent and it is
great fun to watch them get on and hang on as they spin around
while eating corn.

Three Monkeys
is a dangle set featuring a cast pewter “Hear no evil,
speak no evil, see no evil” charm on the dangle. It
also features matte opaque seed beads by Matsuno in a colorway
designed to look primitive, which flank a hematite bead. White
and black are anchors in many primitive colorways. Use of
slightly less vivid orange, turquoise, yellow, pea green,
and red enhance the primitive feel of the colorway. I love
monkeys; they are one of my favorite things to see at our
local zoo.
